Culture

Culture is diverse in Nepal from the high peaks, and then tradition flows through down, art distributes through its valleys. These religion is pure and is preserved in the all heart of its people. Nepal  is known for its cultures, art and custom and they are a part of  Nepalese people. Here, people celebrates their each and every moments and without affecting their essence they adds novelty to their traditions. Nepal is rich in cultural history, which is due in part to Nepal being landlocked between India and China. People exist at different altitude. Nepal is also a very mountainous country, which also affects the lifestyles and hence their culture. Different ethnic and religious groups lies within Nepal thus there is a cultural diversity.

The Nepalese people are always extremely appreciative of visitors who are respectful to their culture and who make an effort to understand it and abide by it.

                                   " अथिति देवो भव : "
                                 (athiti debwo bhawa)

(Means visitors are the form of the God. So, they are always keeping that saying in the first place.)

Going through the evidence, Nepal was inhabited in prehistoric times as per as archeological research. In the late 8th century BC, Indian migrant settled in the region of Kathmandu. Then it was consolidated by the Licchavi Dynasty. They then introduced the Hindu traditions and culture. By the 13th century, Malla Dynasty came in control and dominated the Kathmandu Valley. For over the next five hundred years, the Malla rulers ruled the valley. This ruling time has been proved to be important for the development of the arts, decorated temples and palaces that survive to these days. Throughout the many centuries, Nepal's topography has benefited and protected the country from outside invaders. To the north Himalayan range provided an impenetrable boundary, and in the south endemic malaria in the Terai  makes outsiders an unfavorable options. Nepal has different topological diversity hence causing the diversity throughout the country. Different culture and traditions are practised in Nepal.

As a popular saying of Prithivi Narayan Shah,

               " नेपाल चार जात, छत्तीस वर्णको साझा फूलबारी हो "

Nepal is hence divided into the caste system.  4 caste and 36 sub caste systems.
